My video keeps pausing. Can I do anything? We deliver the videos in the highest possible bandwidth but cannot guarantee the local conditions at the individual PC's. On the video pages there is a resize button that will deliver the videos in a smaller file size. Otherwise try to use the service at a less busy time.
Why do you charge for this service?
The charge covers the cost of streaming the videos, making them, royalties and the general upkeep of the site. We are planning further work and invite members to give donations if they wish so we can invest in other courses. You can donate by sending funds to admin@sentience.tv on PayPal.
My video membership only works one one computer, why is this?.
To prevent abuse of the system we have adopted a membership to the IP address of the computer. The username and password combination will have a restricted access on other computers. If you require access from more than one computer you will need to register for that PC as well..
I have been in the chatroom but no one else is online. What can I do?
The site is in it’s early stages of community building. Keep checking. We will suggest a time and day for discussion while this build is happening for each of the rooms.
I am getting some lines on the video, can I do anything? When the subject matter is fast moving the image is prone to compression artefacts. We have made the decision to keep the compression tight so that the videos stream in real time.
I disagree with some of the points raised in the videos. What can I do to get my voice heard?
We have a regular monthly newsletter distributed to all the members. If you can make your point with a reasoned perspective this would be most welcomed and might make even make it to updates to the video course.
I work for an educational service and would like to run this course for a number of my pupils. Do you offer any discounts?
We do offer discounts for group learning. Please contact us for details telling of the number of students requiring access.
I cannot get the video service working on my PC. Can you help?
Please contact us with details of the browser and operating system you are using. We have found that Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox are the best for the services we offer. Safari users may experience some problems with the video feeds due to security.
I am having trouble viewing the site on my iphone or mobile phone?
The site has been optimised for web viewing and uses flash. We are currently looking at porting the site to a mobile friendly format and will notify any members when this becomes available.
Can I let other people view the videos on my account?
Please ask any friends and family to join the site. They will then have the chance to have their say. We expect you to view the videos a reasonable amount during your membership. If we suspect members are abusing this position we will have no choice but to suspend the account.
